New Marketing Director for OnBuy

Online marketplace OnBuy has announced the appointment of Cherie Cook as Marketing Director. Before joining OnBuy, Cook held positions at Thomas Cook, Bupa and most recently AO, where as leader of the marketing team she ran multi-millionpound campaigns and helped triple the size of the business. In her new role she will be responsible for running large-scale marketing campaigns to extend OnBuy’s reach to millions more customers.

Cas Paton, Founder and CEO of OnBuy, said: “As a true marketing visionary and a leader of AO’s fantastic marketing, Cherie has been there and got the t-shirt! She was the best candidate for OnBuy to fuel our next wave of growth. She’s a forward-thinker with a ‘get it done’ approach – qualities needed to move at the scale we expect.”

OnBuy offers 36 million products from thousands of verified online retailers, across a wide range of categories including electricals, beauty, home and garden, toys and baby supplies.

Kinly strengthens operations team

Stuart Davidson

Kinly, an AV systems integrator and remote collaboration service provider, has promoted AV heavyweight Stuart Davidson to the role of Operations Director, UK & Ireland, and strengthened his team with the appointment of Mark Kempson to the newly created position of Head of Consultancy and Design.

With 26 years’ experience in the AV industry, Davidson joined Kinly in 2016 as Service Delivery Director for Global Services and soon after became Technical Services Director, a role he will continue to perform in his new position.

Mark Kempson

He said: “My previous position is folded into the new one. That means I now have responsibility for the design side of the business as well as the operations project delivery side. For me, that’s an important move because we’re seeing the industry continuously moving and changing, with technology being a key driver, so it makes sense for the operational and technical sides to come under one umbrella.”

Reporting to Davidson, new Head of Consultancy and Design Mark Kempson, who joined Kinly in 2011, will support all national and some international AV, UCC and collaboration projects generated by the UK business, working closely with Kinly’s project management team and directly with clients.

Redstor prepares for next wave of growth with new hires

Redstor, a cloud-first backup platform for MSPs, has announced a number of senior appointments, following a successful first six months of the year, in which it secured investment from European technology growth capital firm Bregal Milestone, opened new offices in Birmingham and Cape Town and won the award for Hosted Cloud Vendor of the Year at the 2022 Technology Reseller Awards.
