Reel is a new ‘pull-to-scan’ wearable for environments with low-frequency barcode scanning requirements, such as quality control and product returns. The 89 euro device works with all MARK series scanners and is quickly accessible via a lanyard or belt clip. As soon as its 70 cm Aramid thread is pulled, Reel triggers the scan engine, enabling workers to scan items within their reach, without having to carry a heavy, bulky pistol scanner. Customisable attachment positions ensure there is no contact with sensitive items.

PFU claims that as well as saving time the fi-800R can help with GDPR compliance as important documents, such as passports, can be scanned in front of the customer rather than out of sight in a back office. With a space-saving U-turn paper path, the fi-800R takes up as little space as half an A4 sheet.
