Airthings describes its new Wave Mini as an ‘ideal first step’ for anyone looking to take control of their indoor air quality. The entry-level monitor measures air temperature, humidity and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) – toxins produced by aerosol sprays, paints, fumes and cleaning products. Current and historical measurements can be viewed on the accompanying app and online dashboard. Through a partnership with BreezoMeter, Airthings customers can also access real-time information on their local outdoor air quality.
New from Snom, the A190 cordless multicell DECT headset, together with the recently introduced M900 base station, enables roaming and seamless handover across wide areas. The headset is particularly useful where hands-free operation is essential or in environments where metal doors, concrete ceilings and other structural features might compromise transmission quality. It can be configured as an extension in its own right or be twinned with a Snom DECT phone.

Savu is the latest company to address fears about the safety of mobile phones. Working with Arrow Electronics, it plans to introduce patented SafeWave Technology, which offers an alternative way to protect against mobile phone radiation. Instead of blocking, shielding or absorbing it, as most solutions do, the Arrow Certified Technology produces a neutralising low frequency random magnetic signal that is claimed to mitigate the biological impact of exposure to electromagnetic radiation. SafeWave technology can be fitted to most handsets through SafeWave Wireless Charging Tags (for Android devices) and SafeWave iPhone Cases. Both will be available through INDIEGOGO in the coming months.
HP world first
HP has unveiled the world’s first singlesource remote workstation solution for powering next generation computing in the AEC, Data Science, Media and Entertainment and Oil and Gas industries. Freeing power users who work on graphics-intensive applications to enjoy remote, mobile and fluid workstyles, HP ZCentral centralises high-end computer power in a single location and delivers predictable, dedicated remote workstation performance via a secure and stable remote workstation connection. HP claims ZCentral provides 16%-33% higher performance than today’s virtualised workstations, at 59%-72% of the cost, and works with Windows, Linux or MacOS devices, giving end users the flexibility to create or design anywhere, on almost any end-point device. It comprises Z by HP racked high performance workstations; ZCentral Remote Boost software, formerly known as Remote Graphics Software (RGS); and ZCentral Connect software for management and remote connection to centralised workstations.
