1 What was your greatest challenge in 2017?
The integration of our organisation has been a big challenge that everyone within Tech Data has contributed to. The result is a tremendously well resourced and extremely capable business that is ready to redefne distribution for the digital age.
2 What was your greatest achievement in 2017?
Continuing to execute with excellence on core distribution services and emerging opportunities, while bringing all our teams, resources and services together – and still making a difference to customers. I am also very proud of our Trusted Advisor programme, which got into full swing this year and is now a core part of our strategy
3 What were the key growth areas for you in 2017? What we now describe as EndPoint Solutions and Advanced Solutions both grew well ahead of the market. The market is now very much about a hybrid IT model and that’s re?ected in our growth. We have really pushed ahead with Microsoft CSP and have led the way in bringing partners into the cloud market. Our mobile business was very strong, as were some specialist areas of focus, such as AV.
4 Any lessons learned in 2017?
There are more innovative and exciting technologies emerging now than ever before and that will compel all of us within the channel to work together more closely. At the same time, you still need great people and processes to deliver great service. Having a passion to deliver still matters – it always will.
5 What is your main focus for 2018?
Deepening our capability to be the trusted advisor to our partners and to help them grow, increase margins, take cost out and deliver higher levels of customer satisfaction. We will continue to focus both on execution of core distribution services and delivering new opportunities around new and emerging areas of technology.
