Efficiency (cited by 65%) has replaced cost savings (44%) as the primary reason for organisations to adopt AR, robotics, IoT and other digital technologies, according to new research by cloud-based accounting software platform bluQube.
Other motivations include enhancing the customer experience (39%) and improving sustainability (32%).
Three quarters (76%) of respondents say that remote working has caused them
to bring forward plans to implement new digital technologies, with 30% of company leaders already using artificial intelligence and machine learning in pursuit of efficiency and productivity gains.
Obstacles to digital transformation include security fears (35%), cost concerns (34%) and a lack of time to implement and train staff (32%).
