Exertis appoints commercial head for its mobile division

Exertis, a leading distributor of technology products for the B2B, mobile and retail markets, has today announced the appointment of Richard Ferguson as head of commercial for Exertis Mobile. In this role Ferguson will be responsible for driving engagement and growing the business with the mobile division’s market leading range of device and accessories vendors across the consumer and business to business areas. He will report to Liam La Cumbre, Exertis consumer commercial director.

He has extensive knowledge and experience of the industry having spent many years working for leading mobile network operators and most recently a mobile distributor. We have a tremendous portfolio of products and solutions to offer our customers across all market segments and opportunities to grow in key areas of our business which someone of Richard’s calibre can help us to exploit to the full.” said La Cumbre.

Ferguson joins from Brightstar where he spent three years, latterly as vice president OEM EMEA, responsible for setting supplier strategy, owning vendor relationships and driving the mobile budget across nine countries. Prior to that, he spent eight years with Vodafone as their commercial director defining and implementing the company’s global supplier strategy and conducting procurement for all terminal equipment including handsets and tablets. He has also worked for T-Mobile and BT in senior management roles.
