IT industry association CompTIA has launched a free on-demand service for people looking for help with a technology-related problem. Currently in beta, the AskIT online platform securely matches someone in need of technical support with one of more than 2,000 CompTIA-certified professionals who have volunteered their time and expertise. A CompTIA spokesperson told Technology Reseller that many technicians saw AskIT as an opportunity ‘to practice and sharpen both their technical skills and their communications and customer service abilities’. Help is offered 24/7 on a range of topics including the internet and networking; software and hardware; operating systems; and cybersecurity.
