ReadID, the flagship software of Dutch company InnoValor, is being used by the Home Office to enable EU citizens to verify their identity by smartphone as part of the EU Settlement Scheme.
The EU Settlement Scheme will enable 3.8 million EU citizens and their family members resident in the UK to obtain the UK immigration status required to live and work in the UK post-Brexit.
ReadID’s NFC-based mobile ID verification technology supports the reading and verifying of chips in epassports and identity cards via the EU Exit: ID Document Check Android smartphone app.
The service is provided with the support of UK facial recognition provider iProov and in partnership with WorldReach Software, a Canadian specialist in border management.
InnoValor’s CEO Maarten Wegdam said: “We are proud and privileged to be part of this new service for the UK Home Office. Large European banks such as ING, Rabobank, Volksbank and the Norwegian bank DNB already use ReadID for mobile onboarding, combining user convenience with trusted identity document verification capabilities.”
