The Tech Data IoT truck is back in its garage after completing an eight week, 10-city tour around Europe including stop-offs in Newbury and Manchester in May.
The Tech Data European IoT on Wheels Roadshow 2018 visited six countries between April and June, giving partners across Europe the opportunity to see how IoT can help them deliver innovative business solutions for customers in the retail, smart spaces, manufacturing, transport and logistics sectors.
Examples highlighted on the truck included a telemetrics solution showing real-time information on the roadshow truck’s location and engine load; the remote monitoring of connected fridges; interactive product recommendations for shoppers; inventory management of RFID-tagged items; and occupancy sensors to control lighting, heating and cooling costs.
Craig Smith, Tech Data Vice President IoT and Analytics, Europe, said: “The aim of the IoT on Wheels Roadshow was to create a unique experience for our channel partners and show how to make IoT easy to understand, deploy and sell. We hope that we have demonstrated the tremendous opportunity IoT brings for organisations to bridge the worlds of IT and operations.”
