Hot on the heels of the merger of Datto and Autotask, Kaseya, another leading provider of complete IT management solutions for managed service providers (MSPs) and mid-market enterprises (MME), has announced that it is to merge with Unitrends, a provider of all-in-one enterprise backup and continuity solutions.
Combining Unitrends’ business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) technologies with Kaseya’s IT Complete suite of management solutions will give MSPs and MMEs a single solution for all their IT needs, including remote monitoring and management (RMM), endpoint management, network monitoring and management (NMM), professional services automation (PSA), IT service desk, security, and backup and disaster recovery.
Commenting on the merger with Unitrends, with which Kaseya already had a successful OEM relationship, Kaseya CEO Fred Voccola said: “The decision to merge with Unitrends was a no-brainer for us. Over a year ago, we embarked on a journey to provide our customers with the best BCDR solution for their needs. After working with Unitrends to launch the Kaseya Unified Backup offering to our MSP customers, as well as introducing the core Unitrends product to our enterprise customer base, we witnessed the explosive adoption of these solutions and decided that it just made sense to further our relationship and to bring our two companies together. “
He added: “The powerful combination of our IT Complete platform with Unitrends’ industry leading BCDR solutions means we can now bring unparalleled innovation to market and open up new markets for our MSPs to meet the increasingly complex requirements of larger customers and deliver enterprise-class disaster recovery as-a-service.”
Unitrends will continue to provide BCDR and DRaaS solutions for medium to large enterprises through existing distribution and channel partners, with Unitrends MSP developing versions customised to the need of MSPs. Both Kaseya and Unitrends will continue to operate under their respective brands.
