Lack of training stops true collaboration

A fifth of UK organisations have some form of collaborative technology in place, such as audio and video conferencing and live chat, but only 9% of employees are actively using it to full effect, claims Managed Cloud Service Provider Timico.

Its research shows that even though 23% of UK businesses are saving anywhere between £5,000 and £100,000 a year from their use of collaboration software, three quarters (72%) still use old fashioned desk phones.

More than half (57%) of executives believe the workforce is slow to use collaborative technology because they ‘don’t understand it’. Nearly half (46%) blame a lack of training for the slow uptake, with 37% attributing it to a lack of management support.
