In the six months following their rebrand to Digital Wholesale Solutions (DWS), CEO Terry O’Brien and his award-winning team have put their all into strengthening their partner relationships and developing that all-important human touch that is at the heart of DWS.
As part of this initiative, the super aggregator launched their new event series, DWSfest, with a Channel Oktoberfest in London on 3rd October, to celebrate their partners. The event took place at Pergola, Paddington, a fantastic venue that looked incredible, decked out with DWS branded Oktoberfest decorations.
CEO Terry O’Brien kicked off the event, welcoming guests and raising a stein to the partners that have helped make DWS a success. “DWS would not be the success it is without our partners, which is why we wanted to do something big to show our partners how grateful we are for their business,” said O’Brien. “An Oktoberfest seemed like the perfect event for guests to kick back and relax, networking with our staff and maybe picking an award for their hard work.”
DWS garnered the support of other major players in the industry with TalkTalk Business, BT Wholesale, O2, Virgin Media Business, Epsilon, Nokia, CAT Phones and FirstWave Cloud Technologies all sponsoring the networking event. Each sponsor was invited to present an award to DWS partners.
Sales Director Garry Growns hosted the first ever DWS Power Awards with recipients rewarded for their work across the core DWS products – Voice, IP Technology, Connectivity, Mobile and Mobile Hardware – and special awards for Network Mobile Partner, International Carrier Partner and Reseller Partner of the Year.
The big award of the night, the Power in Partnership Award, was presented to Transaction Network Services (TNS). “We’re delighted to be recognized by DWS as one of their most valued partners,” said Ciaran Jones, Vice President of EU Operations at TNS. “Our long-standing relationship is a testament to the key strengths which both of our organizations bring to the table and that enable us to offer a superior service to our customers.”
As the night progressed, partners celebrated their award wins while chatting with industry peers and the DWS team. Oompah Brass provided the Bavarian soundtrack to the evening and even got guests involved in some Oktoberfest games.
The unique event was a triumph according to Terry O’Brien, who was delighted with the feedback from guests. “No one else in the Channel is holding events like this so it was something new that I was really excited about. The feedback we’ve had from attendees has been so positive and it gave our team a fantastic opportunity to get to know the people behind the partners, strengthening relationships and maintaining that all-important partner focus that DWS is so passionate about.”
