New head of Panasonic’s B2B business in Europe

Hiroyuki Nishiuma

Panasonic has appointed Hiroyuki Nishiuma as Managing Director of Panasonic System Communications Company Europe (PSCEU), based in Wiesbaden, Germany. A Panasonic executive with more than 30 years’ experience, Nishiuma was previously Senior Managing Executive Officer and member of the board at Panasonic Systems Solutions in Japan, where he achieved income and profit increases in seven consecutive fiscal years. In his new role, he will focus on growing Panasonic’s B2B products and solutions business across mobile computing, security, broadcast, business communication and visual solutions, and industrial and medical vision cameras.

Scott appointment a watershed moment for MyDigital Accounts

Nic Scott

Nic Scott, co-founder and former CEO of Fairsail, which pioneered the mid-market SaaS HR market before being bought by Sage Group in 2017, has become Chairman of Manchester-based enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) vendor MyDigitalAccounts (MDA). With operations in the UK and India, MDA was founded by CEO John Whelan in response to the UK Government’s Making Tax Digital (MTD) initiative and now processes more than one million transactions per month. Whelan said: “The appointment of a high-profile chairman with a SaaS background is a watershed moment in MDA’s five-year history. As our growing customer base returns from lockdown, they need to navigate uncharted waters, adapting to new employment models and the ever-shifting sands of UK tax regulations. Nic’s expertise will be invaluable as we scale up to serve these unmet business needs.”

Promotion for Exertis HR Director

Jo Lawrence

Exertis has promoted Jo Lawrence to UK HR Director, a position previously held by Nick Foster who was made HR Director for Exertis International last year. Lawrence joined Exertis in November 2019 from Life Insurance Mutual LV, where she spent two years as Head of HR for talent, learning and resourcing. Prior to that she spent more than 15 years at the Kingfisher Group in senior HR positions within the PLC and its DIY retailer B&Q.

New CMO for Qumulo

Adriana Gil Miner

Adriana Gil Miner has joined cloud file data services provider Qumulo as Chief Marketing Officer with responsibility for leading the company’s global marketing and brand strategy. Gil Miner has more than 20 years’ experience as a marketing executive, most recently at Tableau Software where she was Senior Vice President of Brand, Communications and Events. During her six years at Tableau, Gil Miner helped establish the company as a category leader in data analytics, with revenue growth from $250 million to more than $1 billion. Prior to joining Tableau, Gil Miner was CMO for Artefact, where she led the go-to-market strategy and public launch of Artefact’s first spin-off startup, 10,000ft.

Jason Phillips joins Aerial Direct

Jason Philips

After spending more than 20 years at O2 (Telefonica UK),Jason Phillips is joining telecommunications provider Aerial Direct as COO. David Ainslie, the current COO and co-founder of the business, will move into a Non-Executive Director role. In his time at O2, Phillips held a number of senior positions, including Head of Business Partners for the last six years, when he restructured the entire O2 team, launched the O2 Direct Partner network and delivered year-on-year growth.

Reynold Leming

New IRMS chair to promote diversity
The Information and Records Management Society (IRMS) has appointed Reynold Leming as its new Chair. A member of the Society’s executive team since 2012, Leming has previously served as Special Projects Officer, Conference Director and most recently Vice Chair of the IRMS. In his new role, he aims to promote diversity and encourage new talent to choose a career in the sector in which he has worked for more than 30 years. One of his first actions will be to commission a survey of diversity within the information and records management profession to highlight barriers to entry and career progression. He will also pursue the IRMS’s application for charity status.

New chair for ITAM

Melody Ayeli

The newly launched ITAM Forum (see page 29) has appointed Melody Ayeli, Head of IT Asset & Configuration Management at Toyota, as its new chairperson. ITAM has been established to raise the profile of IT asset management and develop a professional accreditation. Other members of the ITAM Forum management committee include Vice-Chair Ron Brill, President & Chairman at Anglepoint; Treasurer Bryant Caldwell, Global Software Asset Manager for Procter & Gamble; and Secretary Brett Zurbrick, Software Asset Manager and VP, Bank of Oklahoma.

Radhesh Menon

Datto takes on Menon as CPO
Radhesh Menon has joined Datto’s executive management team as Chief Product Officer (CPO), with responsibility for overseeing global product strategy and developing offerings that support MSPs and the SMEs they serve. Menon was previously CMO at and, before that, General Manager at Red Hat. He has also had various leadership roles at Microsoft across its Azure, Windows Server, Exchange Server and Windows desktop products and technologies.

George Walne

Search Laboratory creates marketplaces role
Leeds-based digital marketing expert Search Laboratory has appointed George Walne as its first Head of Marketplaces. Search Laboratory has created the role in response to a surge in demand from brands looking to improve their presence on marketplace sites such as Amazon and eBay. With his industry connections within Amazon and five years’ experience of marketplace teams at some of the biggest brands in the UK and Australia, Walne will help the agency develop a full range of B2C and B2B services across Amazon and eBay.

New CEO for NHMN

Anita Döhler

Following the retirement of founding director and CEO Dr. Peter Meissner, Anita Döhler has taken over as CEO and Board Director of the Next Generation Mobile Networks (NGMN) Alliance. Under the leadership of Dr. Peter Meissner, who will remain active as Senior Advisor to the NGMN Board, the NHMN Alliance has grown from a handful of operators in 2006 to 100 operators, vendors and research institutions today, plus over 20 partner organisations. In this time, NGMN successfully guided and shaped the evolution of 4G and 5G.
