Orkney to oversee Comnexa growth in UK
Following the opening of a London office in April, Channel Islands accredited Salesforce partner Comnexa has appointed Chris Orkney as Alliances Manager to oversee the company’s growth in the UK. In his new role, Orkney will be responsible for the development of new customer alliances, focusing on organisations headquartered in the UK and other jurisdictions outside the Channel Islands. Comnexa uses Salesforce technology to help businesses find, win and keep customers through data-backed marketing and business development strategies.

IGEL appoints Subramanian as new channel chief
IGEL, provider of the next-gen edge OS for cloud workspaces, has recruited Balaji Subramanian as its global channel chief. Subramanian has more than 25 years’ experience driving channel programmes for Cisco, Adobe, Informatica and, most recently, ServiceMax. As Senior Vice President of Channel Sales and Global Channel Chief at IGEL, Subramanian will be aiming to recruit new partners aligned with the Microsoft, Citrix, VMware and Amazon partner communities; to develop vertically focused enablement programs for the healthcare, financial services and education sectors; and to develop new training and mentoring programs to enable IGEL channel partners to attract and retain new customers and increase their share of wallet with existing customers. In his career to date, Subramanian has received numerous sales leadership awards, including the MVP Award from Cisco and the High Impact Award from Adobe. New COO for Calligo
Mark Hickman is joining end-to-end managed data services provider Calligo as Chief Operations Officer with responsibility for implementing Calligo’s strategic plan and delivering world-class customer service. In particular, Hickman will drive Calligo’s portfolio of managed data services, including data privacy, outsourced IT and data insights services, into the financial services, legal, SaaS, medical and ecommerce sectors. Calligo is backed by Investcorp, and since 2017 has successfully completed seven international MSP acquisitions.

New account manager for Vapour Cloud
Vapour Cloud has appointed James Hartley as a key account manager to serve its growing partner community. He joins from Gamma, where he worked as a data specialist, after cutting his teeth at Virgin Media Business in a variety of roles. Hartley’s appointment follows the launch of Vapour’s new subscription-based cloud communications offering centred around Avaya technologies. Established in 2013, Vapour Cloud delivers secure voice, video, networks and cloud infrastructures to customers ranging from ambitious start-ups to household brands such as JCT600 and Betfred. The company’s solutions – powered by Vapour’s £2m MPLS networks – strengthen clients’ data security, while enabling greater business continuity, flexibility, productivity and growth. Vapour Cloud is targeting 30% growth this year.

TIG appoints UK Sales Manager for UC
Technological Innovations Group (TIG), a sales agency offering an ecosystem of compatible AV, UC, IT and control solutions for smart spaces, has taken on a new UK Regional Sales Manager for UC. Matthew Bailey brings extensive experience of the unified communications market to the TIG sales division and will be responsible for developing new business for the TIG ecosystem of brands that integrate with Crestron’s UC portfolio.

Airband prepares for further growth with new appointments
Rural broadband specialist Airband has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of two industry veterans to lead the company’s next phase of growth. Steve Holford is joining as Commercial Director from Hyperoptic, where he was Director of Operations. Ian Robinson is joining from EE as senior project manager to lead Airband’s involvement in the government-funded West Mercia health research and development project aimed at transforming rural healthcare. Over the last two years, Airband has increased its headcount from 48 employees in 2018 to 180 today, with 100 joining since January 2020. It is currently recruiting new fibre engineers and civil engineers in Devon, Oxfordshire, the Midlands and Shropshire, as well as office-based roles at its Worcester HQ.

Gary Green joins Cloudera
VMWare ‘First 100’ employee Gary Green is joining enterprise data cloud company Cloudera as Vice President Strategic Partnerships. Reporting to Chief Revenue Officer Scott Aronson, Green will oversee the strategic direction of Cloudera’s global partnership program and work closely with Cloudera’s network of 3,000 partners, including Atos, Microsoft, IBM and Accenture, to uncover more opportunities for the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP). Before joining Cloudera, Green was CRO at Packet where he was responsible for the company’s go-to-market strategy, planning and sales operations. Green has also held senior positions at Puppet and VMWare where he established the company’s Strategic Partnership programme.

Stephen Sawley, an experienced wayleave professional with over 20 years’ experience in the telecoms sector, has taken on the role of Senior Wayleave Manager for Trenches Law, the specialist provider of legal expertise for the telecoms sector. Sawley will work remotely from Bradford but make regular visits to Trenches Law’s offices near Farnborough, Basingstoke and on the Isle of Wight. Bellrock Technology strengthens leadership team
Glasgow-based data analytics company Bellrock Technology has expanded its leadership team to extend the reach of its Lumen data science delivery platform, which aids data-driven decision-making by automating the process of model deployment and streamlining the delivery of new applications to users. Following the recent appointment of Steve Langmead as chair, the company spun out from the University of Strathclyde’s Institute for Energy and Environment in 2012 has recruited Dave McConachie as its new Chief Commercial Officer and Hugh Lennie as Chief Financial Officer. The pair will work alongside Bellrock Technology co-founders, Chief Executive Adam Brown and Chief Technology Officer Professor Stephen McArthur. Bitdefender adds experience to Business Solutions team
Bitdefender has taken on two industry veterans – Steve Kelley as President and General Manager and Chris Brazdziunasas SVP Product and Service Engineering – as it increases its focus on the enterprise security market, with a consolidated business unit and dedicated leadership team reporting to Florin Talpes, Bitdefender CEO. The new Business Solutions Group will be responsible for all aspects of its enterprise business, including sales, marketing, product, engineering, services, technology licensing and country partners. Christian Bleakley has been named CEO of the £30 million turnover cloud telecommunications provider Firstcom Europe, with predecessor Jean-Pierre Vandromme moving to the post of President. Bleakley was founder and MD of Telesis in Bolton, which was acquired by Firstcom Europe in 2018. Operating in the UK, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and Poland, Firstcom Europe offers a range of SaaS solutions on its self-developed Universe platform, including online PBXs and a suite of unified communication products.

Workfront makes Erickson EMEA MD
Workfront, the work management application platform for the enterprise, has appointed Paige Erickson as its new EMEA Managing Director. She was previously the company’s Head of Global Business Development, in which role she established the Workfront Partner Network.
