Industry veteran joins Sharp NEC Display Solutions
Sharp NEC Display Solutions has welcomed AV industry veteran Ross Burling as Business Development Manager for the UK and Ireland. Working closely with Channel and End User sales teams to support the growth of Sharp/NEC’s dvLED business, Burling will be responsible for developing new relationships and identifying opportunities in new markets. Burling has 22 years’ experience working in the LED business, most recently with UK LED systems integrator Concept Sign and Display. With the recent launch of its value E Series and FE-E Series ranges, Sharp/ NEC now has an LED offering for every application type, from entry level to high end.


Donald Kay

Kaye to drive global growth at Exasol 

Exasol, the high-performance analytics database with offices in the US and Europe, has appointed Donald Kaye as Chief Commercial Officer to drive its global growth strategy. Based in the UK, Kaye has more than two decades’ experience of the software industry, including leadership roles in the USA with Microsoft and Apple. Kaye joins Exasol from Ground Labs, a market leader in sensitive data discovery, where, as CRO, he advised the board on business strategy and direction. He said: “There is no denying that data has become one of the most crucial assets in an organisation’s arsenal. And yet, despite its importance, businesses are still struggling to derive valuable insights from their data. This challenge facing pretty much every organisation in the world means Exasol is uniquely placed to help them solve it. It’s exactly for this reason that I am thrilled to be joining the Exasol team.” 


Chris Bates

Third new addition to Glide leadership team
Glide, a market-leading infrastructure and utilities business specialising in the delivery of hyperfast connectivity to premises, including business parks and student/built-to-rent accommodation, has strengthened its senior management team with the recruitment of Chris Bates as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Bates is the third addition to the company’s leadership team this year, following the earlier appointments of Chief Technology Officer Sean Lowry and Chief Operating Officer Phil Duggan. Tim Pilcher, CEO of Glide Group, said: “It has been a pivotal year for Glide and, following a strong first half to 2021, we are keen to continue with the same upward trajectory. Chris will play a significant role in helping us navigate the future and ensure that we can proceed with development at an exciting time in the coming months.”


Cath O’Neill

 Exertis appoints new IT Director, Service Operations
Exertis has appointed Cath O’Neill as its new IT Director, Service Operations. Based at Exertis’ National Distribution Centre in Burnley and reporting to Exertis IT Director Liz Greenwood, O’Neill will be responsible for Service Desk, Desktop Services, Infrastructure Services and the implementation of ITIL standards across Exertis UK. O’Neill joins Exertis from the Odeon Cinema Group, where she was responsible for all aspects of IT Service Delivery. Commenting on her appointment, Greenwood said: “I am delighted to welcome Cath to our UK IT team. The business has experienced significant growth over the past couple of years and Cath will play a lead role in defining a number of upcoming IT projects.” 


Sam Williams

New Director of Sales – B2B at Exertis 

Exertis has promoted Sam Williams to Director of Sales – B2B, following four successful years in B2B and ten years in retail. For the last 18 months, Williams has been Director of Sales (Accessories & Own Brand). Based in Exertis’ Basingstoke office, Williams will report to Mike Buley, Chief Sales Officer. 


Jason Cowen

Jigsaw24 strengthens media business with new appointment
B2B technology solutions provider Jigsaw24 has appointed Jason Cowan as Business Director, Media and Entertainment to develop the company’s media and entertainment wing. In this role, Cowan will work across the business to develop future value propositions and identify new growth opportunities in existing and prospective markets. Cowan joins the company from Avid, where he worked in business development for cloud and software as-a- service solutions. Jigsaw24 is an Avid Elite Partner and last year became the UK’s first Avid Certified Cloud Partner, allowing it to provide Avid-certified solutions that enable post-production professionals to edit their media from anywhere in the world.

Neustar Security Solutions eyes channel growth with new appointment
Following the launch of its tiered Ultra Secure Partner Program (USPP), which gives partners in the US, Canada and Europe enhanced access to the company’s cloud- based security solutions and services, Neustar Security Solutions has promoted Jeremy Nicholls to Vice President of Global Channels. Before joining Neustar in January 2021, Nicholls was Vice President of Global Channels & Alliances at Arbor Networks for nine years. He has also held channel and direct sales leadership roles at Niksun, Polycom and Ericsson. Nicola Pickering

Changing of the guard at Encompass 

Nicola Pickering has joined the executive team of automated Know Your Customer (KYC) solutions specialist Encompass Corporation as VP of Customer Success & Delivery. In this newly created role, she will lead the company’s global Customer Success and Delivery Services functions. Pickering was previously at industry leader FICO for 8 years and before that held positions at National Grid and Capital One. Current Head of Customer Success & Delivery, Dr Henry Balani, is taking up the position of Global Head of Industry and Regulatory Affairs. 


Nick Bannister

New Arrow role for Nick Bannister 

Nick Bannister has been appointed Vice President of Arrow Electronics’ enterprise computing solutions business in the UK and Ireland. Bannister joined Arrow in 2010 and has held a number of senior roles at the company, most recently as Vice President Strategic Alliances, EMEA. Prior to joining Arrow, Bannister was a director at Sphinx CST, which Arrow acquired in 2010.
