DS Compliance role for Andrew Beckett

DS Compliance Andrew Beckett

DS Compliance has appointed Andrew Beckett as non-executive Chairman of the Group. Founded in 2019, DS Compliance provides consultancy, services and AI- powered solutions in cybersecurity and compliance. Beckett, who started his career at GCHQ, was previously Managing Director and EMEA leader for Kroll’s cyber risk practice, which he grew into a £25m business with just under 200 employees before stepping down in December 2021. Beckett started his career at GCHQ where he held a variety of roles including head of the branch responsible for providing cyber security advice to UK government departments and penetration testing. He also served as an international civil servant in the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). Before joining Kroll he was Head of Cyber Defence at Airbus Defence and Space in the UK.


Aryaka move for Steve Harrington

Steve Harrington has joined the Senior Leadership Team of Aryaka, a provider
of fully managed cloud-first SD-WAN and SASE services. Harrington will lead Aryaka’s EMEA and APC operations as Managing Director, with a mission to increase the company’s standing in the channel through its network of master agents. He said: “We want our UK agents to be completely comfortable in offering our services. Our Master agents are perfectly placed to offer as much support as needed through the sales process and deployment to ensure all parties see the value in Aryaka’s all-in-one integrated SD-WAN and SASE experience. The beauty of Aryaka’s offer is its ability to change businesses. The market for enterprise connectivity and secured enterprise applications has changed radically during lockdown. Now, businesses require maximum flexibility to adapt to new working models, rising online traffic and never-before-seen cyber security channels.” Harrington has almost 30 years’ channel experience, including recent spells supporting channel operations at TalkTalk Business and Masergy.


Midwich enhances technical capabilities

Midwich has enhanced its technical capabilities with the appointment of Nigel Thompson as Product Sales Specialist for Infrastructure, focusing on Lutron, Middle Atlantic and SurgeX products. Thompson has spent more than 27
years in distribution, notably at RGB Communications where he worked on Middle Atlantic and SurgeX products. Commenting on his appointment,
Greg Bennett, Divisional Manager, said: “We are thrilled to be welcoming Nigel to the Midwich team. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience on infrastructure-based solutions and his appointment bolsters our technical offering to customers. Lighting control, power management and rack specification are critical and sometimes complex parts of any audiovisual project. New FD to drive growth at Core to Cloud

Matt White

Gloucestershire-headquartered cybersecurity specialist Core to Cloud has appointed Matt White as Finance Director to help drive its continued UK and global growth. Since the pandemic, the company’s workforce has doubled, with turnover forecast to rise by more than 170% this year. Previously employed as Head of Finance at UCAS, White will support the board of Directors in streamlining the company’s product and services portfolio and driving its ambitious expansion plans, which include the refurbishment and expansion of its workspaces at The Castle in Cirencester. He will also be responsible for setting up systems and processes that support sustainable growth and ensure Core to Cloud’s products and services remain correctly priced and competitive.


Lim appointed Chief Human Resources Officer at Vertiv

Vertiv, a provider of critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, has named Cheryl Lim as Chief Human Resources Officer. She brings over 20 years’ experience leading global HR operations, supporting organisational transformation and supplying data- driven insights for global HR operations in the manufacturing space. Prior to joining Vertiv, Lim held various HR leadership positions at Honeywell and was most recently the Vice President of Human Resources at ITT Inc. Lim has a joint bachelor’s degree in German and management studies from the University of Leeds and a master’s degree in business administration from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School.


Lazaridis rejoins AMB

Nick Lazaridis, erstwhile President, EMEA at HP Inc., is re-joining AMD
as Senior Vice President, AMD Sales, responsible for managing sales across EMEA, India and APJ. He previously worked at the innovator in high-performance computing, graphics and visualisation technologies from 2009 to 2012 as leader of Asia Pacific regional sales.


No retirement for Vel Johnson

Vel Johnson

Vel Johnson has rejoined AV systems integrator Kinly as its Managing Director for the US, following discussions with newly appointed CEO Tom Martin, who revealed his ambitious growth plans for the company in the US market. Johnson originally relinquished the position in December 2021 after three years in the post, as part of his semi-retirement plans. Martin said: “With over 20 years of experience and supporting more than 2,500 clients, Kinly is a recognised and trusted global provider of fully tailored AV and video collaboration services and support. We have identified opportunities in the US market and under Vel’s leadership, I have no doubt those opportunities and our ambitions as a company can be fulfilled. I’m delighted to welcome Vel back to the Kinly family.”
