NTT data centre pros head to STACK

Digital infrastructure provider STACK Infrastructure has expanded its EMEA leadership team with two experienced data centre industry professionals, John Eland, who joins as Chief Executive Officer for STACK EMEA, and Adam Tamburini, who is taking on the role of Chief Hyperscale Officer. Both are joining from the London operations of global technology services company NTT Ltd., where they were Chief Strategy Officer of the Global Data Centers division and SVP of Hyperscale Sales respectively.


Fernando Apezteguia

Apezteguia takes reins at NTT DATA UK

NTT DATA UK has promoted Fernando Apezteguia to the role of UK and Ireland CEO. Apezteguia joined NTT DATA in 2000 and has held various leadership roles since, most recently as part of the executive team at technology solutions innovator NTT Disruption. As CEO of NTT DATA UK&I, he will aim to sustain rapid expansion of the UK&I business, which has almost tripled in size since 2019 and increased profitability by a factor of 10. Priorities for 2022 include an increase in headcount of more than 20%, expansion of NTT’s services across all industries in the UK and Ireland, the promotion of sustainable business practices and continued action to improve diversity and inclusion (D&I) in the workplace – NTT UK&I was recognised as a Financial Times Diversity Leader for 2022. Fritz Hoderlein, CEO of NTT DATA EMEA, said: “We welcome Fernando into his new role at NTT DATA UK&I, where he will guide the business through continued growth. Fernando is a highly talented and innovative leader, and his passion for delivering high-quality services mixed with his background in consulting will supercharge the UK&I business to create even better outcomes for our clients.”


Brian Hills,

Hills confirmed as The Data Lab CEO

Brian Hills has been announced as the new CEO of The Data Lab, Scotland’s innovation centre for data and AI, following his appointment as interim CEO in January when his predecessor Gillian Docherty OBE left to take up the role of Chief Commercial Officer at Strathclyde University. Hills has worked at The Data Lab for the last seven years in a variety of roles including Deputy CEO and Head of Service Design. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading the innovation centre’s 50-plus- strong team and promoting AI and data science skills across the academic and business communities in Scotland. With hubs in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness, The Data Lab brings together organisations, data talent, academia and suppliers to foster innovation, develop skills and promote Scotland’s data science community.


Project Audio Visual appoints new Head of Microsoft Alliance – Europe

Microsoft Teams Rooms integration specialist Project Audio Visual has appointed Matthew Bailey as Head of Microsoft Alliance – Europe to nurture client relationships, develop vendor partnerships and bridge the gap between its integration team, manufacturers and end-users. Bailey, who has more than 25 years’ IT experience, joins Project Audio Visual from Crestron, where he was the Enterprise UC Regional Sales Manager for UK and Ireland. Project Audio Visual has been growing rapidly since pivoting to focus solely on hybrid working environments, installing more than 3,000 Microsoft Teams Rooms over the last two years and doubling its headcount in the last six months.


Mong-Trang Sarrazin

Unmind recruits first ever CFO

Following an impressive £33.2 million Series B funding round last year, London- based workplace mental health platform Unmind has appointed Mong-Trang Sarrazin as its first ever Chief Financial Officer. Sarrazin has 18 years’ experience in corporate finance, including eight years as Group CFO for other platforms such as SAAS medical booking platform Doctolib and Itiviti, a global provider of multi-asset trading technology. She said: “I am thrilled to start my new journey in a fantastic mission- driven company. After two challenging and successful experiences at Ullink/Itiviti and Doctolib, my passion for entrepreneurship and scaling businesses made me find my third golden nugget, Unmind. Stay tuned!”


Phil Sansom

Sansom recruited by Barracuda

Barracuda MSP, a provider of cloud-first security solutions, is looking to extend its channel presence across EMEA with the appointment of Phil Sansom as Director of Business Development and Alliances. Sansom joins Barracuda from Continuity.


PPDS strengthens International Customer Solutions team

PPDS, the exclusive global provider of Philips digital signage, interactive displays, direct view LED and professional TV products, has strengthened its International Customer Solutions team with the appointment of Valeriia Polovkova as International Key Account Project Manager for tailored installations in hospitality, corporate and retail. Based in Amstelveen in the Netherlands, she will provide full end-to-end support to multinational businesses across 159 countries, coordinating and executing project rollouts, from tender to completion. PPDS established its team of International Key Account Managers (IKAM) in 2020 to provide multi-national businesses with local expertise, dedicated support and a single point of contact.


Glide takes on new Sales Director to target estate agency and shared living spaces

Glide, a leader in ultra-fast broadband connectivity and bill splitting for utilities in shared accommodation and business parks, has appointed Danny Wyrwoll as Sales Director of Shared Living to accelerate the company’s expansion into the estate agency and shared living space. Previously employed by SSE and Spark Energy, Wyrwoll has more than 10 years’ experience in selling to estate agents and commercial markets and in 2019 was runner-up in the National Sales Person of the Year Awards. Commenting on his new role, he said: “Glide has a great brand, great product and a focus on the hard-to- reach markets that I’ve operated in over the last 10 or so years – so it’s a perfect fit. Rob Darby joins Distology

Rob Darby has joined specialist IT cybersecurity distributor Distology as
Sales Director responsible for maintaining relationships with the company’s existing partners and vendors, while also building its sales team as it embarks on its next growth stage after securing private equity investment from NorthEdge Capital last year. Darby has more than 20 years’ experience in the technology sector, including senior roles at Pulsant, Ingram Micro and Comms- Care. Commenting on his appointment, Hayley Roberts, CEO of Distology, said: “Rob has a proven track record in sales and helping businesses to grow. His skills will not only bolster our already talented and innovative team, but will also help us achieve our ambitious growth plans.”
