North-west-based consumer tech group Tactus has completed its third major acquisition of the year with the purchase of B2B IT hardware provider Business IT Support Team (BIST) Group, after securing a £40 million investment from Chrysalis Investments to support its plan to become a globally recognised gaming and consumer computing group.
In April, Tactus acquired the Bradford- based e-commerce PC gaming specialist CCL Computers and in June it invested in pi-top, a US-based coding and robotics firm specialising in improving digital skills in education.
Founded in 2003, BIST Group provides hardware and software IT solutions to a range of businesses. An accredited partner to major brands such as Microsoft, Dell, HP, Lenovo and ESET, it has 40 employees and an annual turnover of £20 million.
Tactus Group CEO Scott Brenchley said: “This is another important development for Tactus Group and the latest step on our journey to becoming a globally recognised computing group. The acquisition of BIST significantly increases our capabilities in the IT hardware space.”
