Tech Data has made three appointments to the Consumer Technology Group (CTG) it set up in February to maximise opportunities in consumer technologies, such as consumer PCs, the smart home, PC gaming, VR and wearables.
Ross Turner has been made general manager of CTG external sales, with responsibility for managing customer engagement and relationships; Catherine Craig has been named business manager for consumer hardware, which incorporates consumer PCs and components, PC gaming and home networking and smart home products; and Teresa Johnston has been appointed business development manager for smart home.
Matt Child, who heads up the CTG, said: “We are now seeing an unprecedented wave of new development in which the lines between product categories are becoming blurred. The market has moved on from a product-based sell – it’s now about propositions, ecosystems and connected experiences. As these markets develop, this will become even more important. We see very significant growth in these areas and we will be making strategic and targeted investments to ensure that Tech Data and leads the way in identifying opportunities and opening them up for our vendor partners and customers.”
