Indian IT giant Tech Mahindra and The University of Salford have agreed to collaborate on a variety of projects including research into virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) and the creation of connected experiences for smart cities using automation and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The agreement signed at the recent Manchester India Business Summit follows the opening of a Tech Mahindra office in Salford in April. The IT services and consultancy company employs over 110,000 staff and has offices in more than 60 countries.
Ashish Pandey, VP and client executive at Tech Mahindra Salford, said: “Our Salford operation is ideally placed to work with forward-thinking, ambitious businesses and organisations like Salford University. By plugging into research and tech talent at Salford University, we can share resources and skills to improve the standard of research we undertake.”
