HUAWEI enters smart speaker market

HUAWEI has entered the smart speaker market with the two-in-one HUAWEI AI Cube, combining a speaker and a 4G/WiFi router for internet access. Built-in Alexa means the device can also be used to play music, control smart home devices and access more than 50,000 skills by voice alone.

Other new features include the ability to connect to solar panels and power walls for carbon-zero charging and a connect app for management and remote control. As well as providing information on charging times and cost, Konnect can be used to lock/unlock a unit and remotely control power to charging cables. For businesses that provide EV charging as a service, it offers the ability to control how much power the charging points are drawing and prioritise charging of specific vehicles.
