Working together – This month’s round-up of new distribution agreements

Tech Data has extended its partnership with Google, covering Chromebooks and Pixel phones, to include the new Android Essentials mobile device management (MDM) service and the Glass Enterprise Edition 2 wearable. Commenting on the former, Simon Bennett, Director of Enterprise Software and Cloud at Tech Data UK and Ireland, said: “The explosion in the use of mobile devices has led to mobile device management becoming a big challenge for organisations. Up to this point, they have been faced with making a choice between highly functional ‘full fat’ enterprise-focused solutions that are quite expensive to deploy or having no MDM. That’s the gap that Google’s Android Essentials is aiming to fill.” New to Tech Data’s assisted and virtual reality solutions portfolio, Glass Enterprise Edition 2 provides workers in retail, manufacturing, healthcare, field services and logistics with two-way communication and voice-activated assistance in problem-solving and just-in-time training.
