Following its acquisition of the Poole-based email security provider Everycloud in January, German email cloud security provider Hornetsecurity is expanding its presence in the UK through a strategic partnership with cybersecurity distributor Brigantia. With offices in London and Yorkshire and an extensive reseller network, Brigantia will help Hornetsecurity establish a UK presence in support of its ambition to become the leading cloud security vendor for managed service providers in the UK within 12 months. Hornetsecurity’s product covers all key areas of email security, including spam and virus filters, legally compliant archiving and encryption, and advanced threat protection for users of Microsoft 365 and other email systems. Martin Wright, Managing Director of Brigantia, said: “With more companies moving to the Microsoft 365 cloud and more staff working from home, the number of email attacks has risen sharply. Hornetsecurity’s next-generation solution is the most sophisticated of its type we have seen, offering advanced protection against threats like CEO fraud and ransomware and a whole range of features to help users comply with GDPR and other standards.”


To meet growing demand for collaboration solutions, Exertis is distributing the Huddly GO and Huddly IQ videoconferencing cameras for home workers, huddle spaces and medium-sized meeting rooms. The flagship Huddly IQ AI-powered collaboration device features 150° wide-angle 1080p video, automated AI user experiences and, optionally, an embedded mic array. The camera’s Genius Framing feature automatically detects and frames participants in its field of view, eliminating the need to control the camera manually. A Huddly InSights analytics API provides businesses with insights into how their meeting spaces are being used.

Reseller, MSP and dealer services group Synaxon UK is enabling its 600-plus members and their customers to achieve Cyber Essentials certification more quickly through a new partnership with CyberSmart. The cybersecurity compliance specialist was founded in 2017 to automate cybersecurity and compliance and protect users’ data and infrastructure from more than 99% of cyber incidents. Its solutions reduce the Cyber Essentials certification time from months to hours, making remote auditing simple while checking, fixing and monitoring compliance around the clock. A centralised dashboard and mobile app make relevant information easy to access and interpret. Nuvias UC, the Unified Communications Practice of the EMEA distributor, is adding Pexip Cloud Video Conferencing solutions to its video conferencing portfolio, which already includes Lifesize, BlueJeans, Poly, Yealink and Dolby. Pexip was named a Visionary in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Meeting Solutions and is Wainhouse Research’s #1 ranked Video Meeting Solution. Tech Data’s Global Computing Components (GCC) business has expanded the range of value-add services it can offer resellers through a pan-European agreement with StorTrec. The storage support specialist provides a number of customisable service and support options for white-box servers and storage products from leading vendors, such as Intel, Synology and Supermicro, that GCC’s reseller network will be able to offer alongside storage products. These include hotline and 24×7 on-site support, technical training for field-based technicians, and installation and integration services.

Acer Commercial Notebooks

Following a review of how it supports resellers through distribution partnerships, Acer has extended its relationship with Westcoast to encompass its entire commercial product portfolio. Westcoast will now stock the company’s full range of commercial notebooks, from the Travelmate B3 up to the enterprise-grade Travelmate P6; Education and Enterprise Chromebook, Chromebox and Chromebase products; and B series and V series displays. For the last four quarters, Acer has experienced growth in all sectors of the commercial market (SMB, mid-market, enterprise and education).

PBXMonitor has appointed telecoms wholesaler UC-Reseller as exclusive UK & Ireland distributor for its Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tool for 3CX. PBXMonitor enables 3CX resellers remotely to manage and monitor customers’ 3CX servers in the cloud and on-premises, with interactive wallboards showing the status of the 3CX estate and providing immediate visual and email alerts. Adam Mathews, UC-Reseller, Senior UC Solutions Specialist, said: “PBXMonitor provides a unique solution for the 3CX partner base, allowing them to be proactive and efficient, and essentially saving the reseller time by centrally managing instances, bulk upgrades and centralised backups.”
