Brother has extended its reach into the automatic identification (Auto-ID) market after appointing global technology solutions distributor BlueStar to distribute its thermal printer range across Europe. The agreement covers Brother’s mobile printers, rugged portable devices, desktop labelling printers and recently launched industrial printer range. Bluestar will provide IT resellers with value-added services alongside Brother devices, including marketing and business development support and help with integrating thermal printing technology into wider solutions. Manel Baranera, Chief Operating Officer at BlueStar EMEA, said: “For several years, BlueStar and Brother have been partnering successfully to develop the printing technology market in the US. We are delighted to complete our global presence with this European agreement.”

Exertis has added Seek Thermal high resolution thermal imaging cameras and OEM thermal cores to its accessories portfolio. The company’s products, including the Compact, Reveal, Shot and Seek Scan ranges distributed by Exertis, enable Building, HVAC and Electrical professionals to perform a variety of tasks in a safer, smarter, faster way. Exertis Accessories Commercial Director Jamie Brothwell said: “We are delighted to bolster our customer proposition with the addition of Seek Thermal to our portfolio. Tech Data is taking the cloud-native Secureworks Taegis platform to partners across Europe, backed up by enablement programmes and resources, including cybersecurity benchmarking assessments, access to Tech Data’s Practice Builder programme, training and flexible financing solutions. The Taegis platform unifies detection and response across endpoint, network and cloud environments, leveraging advanced analytics and community-applied intelligence – powered by AI-based detection and findings from 1400+ incident response engagements – to detect, investigate and respond to cyberattacks. David Ellis, Tech Data Vice President, Cybersecurity and Mobility, Europe, said: “We believe the Taegis XDR platform can help MSPs, MSSPs and resellers manage threats far more effectively for their clients. Hot on the heels of its appointment as the only pan-European Zoom distributor and master agent, Nuvias UC has expanded its Zoom eco-system portfolio with the addition of video room systems from DTEN. Combining video conferencing, content sharing and interactive whiteboarding, the all-in-one solutions include the DTEN D7, DTEN ON, DTEN GO (with DTEN Mate) and DTEN ME. Following an exclusive distribution agreement with Re Mago Ltd, AV & IT distributor Ascentae has added the Valarea software-based, cloud-enabled collaboration platform to its portfolio. With support for more than 30 UCC providers, integration with any AV system provider and BYOD support, Valarea complements customers’ existing meeting room technology. Ascentae MD Jon Knight said: “The Valarea solution solves many of the challenges being experienced in collaboration spaces as we all adapt to a hybrid world. How do we create a walk-up-and-use UC experience? How can we support multiple UC platforms? How can users enable visual collaboration for whiteboarding, digital documents and physical objects? Valarea answer all of these challenges and more with a software application and lots of flexibility on hardware.”


NEC has appointed Nimans as launch partner for the NEC UNIVERGE BLUE range of cloud solutions in the UK. These include the fully integrated UCaaS solution NEC UNIVERGE BLUE CONNECT, the CCaaS solution NEC UNIVERGE BLUE ENGAGE and the integrated conferencing and collaboration solution NEC UNIVERGE BLUE MEET (see page 4). Nimans Dealer Sales Director Tom Maxwell said: “Unlike other cloud telephony solutions, the UNIVERGE BLUE partner program enables resellers to stay close to their customers with greater control of pricing and billing. There’s a real focus on making the initial on-boarding as simple as possible – resellers can choose the partner model they’re most comfortable starting with and take it from there.”


EmpiricAI WorkSafe

In its first UK partnership, EmpiricAI has appointed Preston-based electronic security specialist QED (Quality Essential Distribution) to distribute its Computer Vision technology across the UK and Europe. Developed to improve health & safety and productivity in construction, manufacturing, corporate offices, retail and other customer-facing sectors, EmpiricAI’s WorkSafe Analytics (WSA) platform uses AI-powered Computer Vision to give businesses an accurate view of potential risks. For example, when integrated into on-site CCTV implementations, WSA is able to monitor and detect non-compliance with social distancing, PPE/mask usage and occupancy guidelines. Analytics and reporting on compliance at room, building and site-level enable organisations to improve the effectiveness of their health and safety initiatives.


CybelAngel is partnering with Exclusive Networks to extend the availability of its cloud-based Digital Risk Protection (DRP) solution to MSSPs and VARs in the UK and Ireland. Offering data breach prevention through early detection of data exposure and continuous thirdparty risk assessments, CybelAngel’s Digital Risk Protection Platform enables service providers to deliver DRP alongside state-of-the-art Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services. It recently added Asset Discovery and Monitoring capabilities that enable customers to discover and protect previously invisible and vulnerable devices and data, like manufacturing equipment, shadow IT services and IoT devices. Graham Jones, UK&I Regional Director at Exclusive Networks, said: “CybelAngel is the first vendor in our portfolio that monitors for threats outside the network, which enables us to deliver a holistic cybersecurity offering.”
