Working together This month’s round-up of new distribution/reseller agreements.

Mobile Computing and EPoS distributor Varlink is partnering with ParcelKiosk to bring the Bedal Shipping Solution to the UK market. This protects businesses from excess shipping charges by accurately calculating both a parcel’s weight and its dimensions. This is important as shipping costs are increasingly based on a parcel’s weight or its dimensional weight (L x W x H/5000), whichever is greater. Varlink CEO Mike Pullon said: “Many of our customers specialise in providing transport, logistics and warehousing solutions. ParcelKiosk’s Bedal provides an opportunity for them to supply their customers with a cost-effective solution for parcel weight and dimensioning, which is designed to integrate with a range of warehouse applications and carrier shipping solutions.”

PSCo, the LED display distributor and trade-only rental company, has strengthened its five-year relationship with NovaStar by becoming the manufacturer of LED display control systems’ first UK and Ireland distributor. As such, PSCo will provide resellers with product demonstration and evaluation services, accredited training programs, technical support, local stock, payment terms and enhanced warranties. In addition, PSCo will create a dedicated NovaStar showroom at Innovation House in Bracknell. Evelyn Zhang, UK Manager, NovaStar, said: “As part of the Midwich Group, PSCo gives NovaStar a unique opportunity to help increase awareness of NovaStar technology solutions to over 10,000 resellers and 400 rental companies across the UK.”

Broadband and voice services distributor DMSL is offering resellers a simple guest WiFi solution that enables visitors to get online without a username or password. Developed by Smarter WiFi, it consists of a Mini Smart router, which a reseller’s end-user customers can attach to an existing broadband router, and a branded landing/log-in screen (for mobiles, tablets, laptops and PCs), customisable with the host’s logo, choice of background and additional messages/images. The system captures marketing information (e.g. visitor name and email) in a GDPRcompliant fashion and offers integration with MailChimp for marketing mailings. Other useful features include a built-in email and SMS distribution platform; the ability to set data and time limits; and analytics and reporting. Packages cost from £25 per month.

Ingram Micro Inc and digital transformation company Atos have extended their long-standing relationship with the signing of a UK distribution agreement for Atos unified communications and collaboration (UCC) solutions marketed under the Unify brand. These include OpenScape products and Circuit, an enterprise collaboration solution delivered through the cloud. The agreement follows Ingram Micro’s 2016 acquisition of Comms-Care, which extended its services offering in the UK.

Exertis is extending its distribution agreement with DLP projector brand Optoma to include the company’s LED displays, interactive flat panel displays and associated accessories. Optoma UK territory manager James Fitzgerald said: “Exertis has distributed our projection products for more than a decade. But Optoma is no longer just a projection company; we are in the business of big imagery, whether that is projection, LED displays or IFPDs.”

Security, wireless and data protection specialist e92plus has become strategic distribution partner for Fidelis in the UK. Now part of the e92plus cybersecurity portfolio, Fidelis Elevate automates the detection of and response to attacks and data leakage, integrating network visibility, endpoint detection & response, and data loss prevention & deception.
