BT Wholesale today announces that it is bringing EE mobile connectivity to the wholesale market. Due to be officially launched in early 2023 on the completion of trials, partners will be able to sell EE mobile SIMs. This marks the first time that EE connectivity will be available to enterprise resellers via a direct channel model with BT Wholesale.
Available exclusively to resellers nationwide that are members of Partner Plus (BT Wholesale’s partner programme), they will be able to harness the power and influence of both BT Wholesale and EE to supercharge and grow their own businesses.
The EE network has been rated the UK’s number one nine years in a row. It also continues to trailblaze in 5G, being the first to launch the network and now over 50% of the UK population are able to benefit from 5G services. EE is targeting to cover 90% of the UK landmass with 5G by 2028, with requestable, on-demand solutions anywhere beyond, meaning resellers and their customers will benefit from 5G solutions ‘anywhere’ as it becomes the primary network while on the move.
The launch, which will enable access to EE’s 4G and 5G networks, further boosts resellers’ ability to support end users’ evolving all-IP requirements and go-to-market strategies. The use of EE mobile SIMs supports the move away from legacy voice setups – a transition accelerated by the upcoming PSTN switch-off in 2025 – and helps lay the futureproofed foundations for greater use of innovative technologies.
This announcement shows BT Wholesale’s commitment to equipping its partners with the best solutions and services. It complements the existing BT Wholesale portfolio, meaning resellers can provide customers with Complete Convergence so they can grow in bold new ways through mobile and fixed propositions. BT Wholesale fixed solutions and services are supported by the Openreach network, the UK’s biggest fixed broadband network.
Gavin Jones, Channel Partners Director at BT Wholesale said: “Partnering with BT Wholesale means always having us in your corner to support you no matter what; providing the best solutions, the widest portfolio, 24/7 expert support and full transparency. We are constantly striving to make ourselves easier to do business with, and critical to that is ensuring we are delivering what partners want. For many, that was EE mobile. Enabling resellers to sell EE mobile SIMs is the latest proof point demonstrating our commitment to helping our partners thrive.
“We are seeing a clear shift in businesses moving away from legacy voice services and we’re providing partners with Complete Convergence across fibre, cloud voice and mobile. The EE mobile SIM is another way to deliver unparalleled access however partners need it. Ultimately, this backs resellers to maximise relationships as customers take more control of their digital destiny.”
BT Wholesale delivers for its partners through innovative, channel-specific designed propositions. Last year, it launched WHC Express, a cloud-based telephony system designed for businesses with 10 employees or fewer so that they can receive and make calls across fixed and mobile devices. That coincided with the unveiling of Broadband One, an end-to-end managed service that allows partners to provide small businesses with connections of up to 1Gpbs across both FTTP and SoGEA.
Jones added: “Making EE SIMs available via a wholesale model means partners can offer customers the might of the UK’s best mobile and biggest fixed broadband networks. The pandemic taught the channel that we need to be more flexible in our approach, and that’s reflected in our launches. We provide our partners with flexibility and choice so they can pass that through to their customers as they accelerate their own digital journeys.”
