Daisy Communications improves broadband and voice service: The independent telecoms business steps up its partnership with BT Wholesale

Daisy Communications, one of the largest independent providers of communications solutions to UK businesses, has become one of the largest partners in BT Wholesale’s Partner Plus programme. This growing partnership with BT Wholesale continues to enhance Daisy’s ability to provide its customers with the best products and service to suit their bespoke needs.

Keeping UK businesses connected and growing is one of Daisy’s main goals. By continuing to deepen partnerships with leading organisations like BT Wholesale, it enables the company to always provide the very best service. This level of partnership with BT Wholesale improves the ability to bring BT’s voice and ethernet products to Daisy’s customers.

“According to Ofcom data (November 2019), 75% of UK businesses are still on superfast connections via Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) or cable, with only 2% on ultrafast full fibre,” said Dave McGinn, CEO of Daisy Communications (Pictured above). “We take it as our personal responsibility at Daisy to educate, not only our existing customers, but all UK businesses about the national fibre roll out and how to be prepared for the looming Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) switch off. Establishing strong partnerships with industry leaders like BT Wholesale enables us to do this, bringing easy access to great broadband and voice products to make the transition as easy as possible for our customers.”

Instead of focussing on maintaining the traditional copper cables and the PSTN – which has been in use since the 1800s – Openreach has shifted focus to building and expanding its full fibre network, ensuring homes and businesses throughout the country can access a faster and more reliable connection. This means that businesses will need to embrace the digital switch to maintain fast broadband connections and keep phone lines open with a digital calling solution, such as Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP).

Gavin Jones, Channel Sales Director at BT Wholesale commented, “Our Partner Plus programme is an exciting evolution in how we do business with our partner community, and it’s fantastic to have Daisy on board. Importantly, we’re supporting Daisy and its customers on the journey to all-IP. It’s tempting to think of the PTSN switch off as far-away, but the reality is that it’s happening now. It’s imperative that UK businesses of every size find a new way to connect when analogue lines are phased out by 2025, for example with VoIP. Now is the time to champion the shift, and businesses will benefit from faster and more reliable connectivity if they do.”

Daisy Communications helps around 200k customers of all sizes connect better with their customers, suppliers and teams. As an independent provider, it works with all major telecommunications networks and suppliers to get the best deal in the market for its customers.
