Virtual1 Partner letter from Tom O’Hagan

As you will be aware, earlier this year, Virtual1 joined the TalkTalk Group.  As a Partner of Virtual1 you will already be familiar with our unrivalled Cloud and Connectivity solutions, expansive automation capabilities, leading-edge portal experience and suite of sophisticated API capabilities. So, the combination of our unrivalled software capability and the superior scale of TalkTalk’s 3000 strong exchange footprint has been a very exciting proposition for us to bring to the market.

Now the transaction is complete, I have been working closely with TalkTalk Wholesale Services to understand how we can better support the needs of our Partners across both brands.

In an ever-changing and competitive market, we have seen customer needs evolve faster than ever over the last few years.  We know that customers across consumer and business markets have very different requirements when it comes to connectivity and, to support the growth of our Partners operating across these different markets, we need to provide specific solutions and expertise to address these different needs.

That’s why I’m pleased to announce that we are evolving our combined business into two new business units to support the unique needs of both our consumer wholesale Partners and our business wholesale Partners.

Supporting our wholesale business Partners

I will be leading our new business unit which will specialise in the wholesale B2B market. By combining Virtual1’s unrivalled capability in automation, sophisticated API capabilities and leading-edge portal experience, with TalkTalk Wholesale Service’s national scale, our vision is to become the fastest growing provider of Software Defined High Bandwidth services in the Wholesale B2B market.

My leadership team will be made up of a combination of the existing Virtual1 and TalkTalk Wholesale Services leadership teams, and we will continue to go to market under both the Virtual1 & TalkTalk Wholesale Services brands.

Supporting our wholesale consumer Partners

By leveraging TalkTalk Wholesale Services’ extensive experience in the consumer market, we are also introducing a new specialist division focused on maximising value for our consumer wholesale Partners. TalkTalk Wholesale Services’ current Managing Director, Nick Gunga, will move across to lead this new division.  With over 26 years of experience in the telecoms industry, Nick has been with TalkTalk Group for over 17 years and has a wealth of experience in the consumer market to bring to this role.

Our vision for this division is to become the fastest growing provider of connectivity in the wholesale consumer market.

We’re confident that by investing in a specialist business unit focused on the wholesale B2B market it will enable us to stay closer to the needs of you and your customers. It will allow us to focus on what you really need, enable us to become easier to do business with and, ultimately, provide the right solutions you need to maximise value for your customers.
